Will there be a ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ season four?

The Summer I Turned Pretty season three adapts the third and final novel in Jenny Han’s coming-of-age trilogy.

Led by Han, who serves as co-showrunner, the series follows teenager Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) who gets caught up in a love triangle with brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno).

Other cast members in the series include Jackie Chung, Rachel Blanchard, Sean Kaufman, Alfredo Narciso, Minnie Mills, Colin Ferguson and Tom Everett Scott.

After the series debuted in June 2022, the show’s third season arrived in July 2025 on Amazon Prime Video.

Has The Summer I Turned Pretty been renewed for season 4?

At the time of writing, Amazon has not renewed the show for a fourth season.

It’s unclear whether the show will continue. The third season of The Summer I Turned Pretty adapted the final book in Jenny Han’s trilogy, titled We’ll Always Have Summer, so any potential future season will have to go beyond the source material.

However, with Han serving as a showrunner on the series, it’s possible it could be extended if the demand is there.

What have the creators said about a potential season 4?

Showrunner and author Jenny Han has not ruled out the possibility of a fourth season, although it depends on whether the story is invigorating enough.

“Never say never – I never do,” Han told Entertainment Weekly about a potential fourth season. “If the story is there, then I’m there. As a storyteller, you just get hit with inspiration all the time. If I had a really great idea that I was excited by, that I wanted to keep telling the story, and if [the stars] were excited to do it, then I would be so pumped.

“It really depends on if I feel like there is more story to tell.”

She added: “Amazon Prime has been very supportive of my vision, and I haven’t felt a pressure to keep it going just to keep it going. It’s all about doing what’s best for the story. And you obviously want to give the fans a really satisfying ending.”
