Watch The Killers’ Brandon Flowers join Howard Jones for “spellbinding performance” at US tour closer

The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers joined Howard Jones on stage in the US earlier this week – watch the videos below.

Flowers performed Jones’ tracks ‘No One Is To Blame’ and ‘Hide And Seek’ with the new wave artist at The Ballpark at America First Square in South Jordan, Utah, on Monday (September 22). The gig marked the final stop on the latter’s 40th anniversary ‘Dream Into Action’ US tour.

Ahead of ‘Hide And Seek’, Flowers recalled an “early fanatic experience” when he was 14 years old. He had “heard that Howard Jones was gonna be signing records” for fans. “My brother took me there, and we waited in line,” he continued.

“I still remember it very fondly, and I’ve been a fan ever since. It’s such an honour to be on this stage with him.”

Jones then explained that he had played ‘Hide And Seek’ at Live Aid back in 1985. “So I’ll give you a little flavour of that day, and then we’ll move to an electronic version of it,” he told the audience.

“What an incredible night at @theballparkatafs,” Jones wrote on social media. “@brandonflowers joined me on stage for ‘Hide And Seek’ and ‘No One Is To Blame’ with a spellbinding performance on both. Thank you Utah for a night I’ll never forget.”

Opening act Richard Blade also posted an image of himself with Jones and Flowers. See it above.

Last year saw Jones attend one of The Killers’ concerts at The O2 in London. Following the gig, he shared a photo of himself and Flowers along with the caption: “Thank you Brandon for such an incredible show. Always a pleasure to meet up, see you in Sandy .”

Earlier this year, Flowers joined New Order on stage in Salt Lake City to perform their classic song ‘Bizarre Love Triangle’.

He also spoke to NME in May, and discussed his plans for new solo albums and what to expect next from The Killers. “The next thing we’re going to get is a Brandon Flowers record, unfortunately! It’s so good,” he explained.

He went on to say that the forthcoming project would be “a step backwards” from his previous solo effort, 2015’s ‘The Desired Effect’.

“It’s more in the ‘Flamingo’ [2010] direction,” he told NME. “I made two South West records, if you want to know the truth. One is a romantic South West record, and the other is a narrative South West record which picks up where [The Killers’ 2021 album] ‘Pressure Machine’ left off.”

Flowers added: “I’m thrilled about both of them, and they’ll both come out before the next Killers record – but I’m thrilled about the next Killers record.”
