Watch Robert Smith join Olivia Rodrigo at Glastonbury for The Cure’s “Friday I’m in Love” and “Just Like Heaven”

Glastonbury 2025 wrapped up Sunday night and Olivia Rodrigo was headliner at the festival’s massive Pyramid Stage. She had a surprise in store mid-set, introducing someone as “perhaps the best songwriter to come out of England…a Glastonbury legend and a personal hero of mine.” Out walked The Cure‘s Robert Smith for not one but two Cure songs. They first did “Friday I’m in Love” and followed it with “Just Like Heaven.” You can watch below.

Olivia is clearly a fan of classic alt-rock: she had the Breeders open arena shows last year and brought out David Byrne at Governors Ball in NYC to perform Talking Heads’ “Burning Down the House.” She like newer groups, too, covering Fontaines D.C. in the band’s hometown of Dublin. She also recently brought out Ed Sheeran in London.

This was not the only Cure material heard at Glastonbury. On Friday, Grace Abrams covered “Just Like Heaven” at the festival’s Second Stage with Charli XCX and Paul McCartney watching from the side of the stage. Check out a clip of that below as well.
