Mavis Staples‘ tour supporting her fourteenth solo album, last year’s Sad and Beautiful World, brought her to NYC on Saturday night (2/28) for a show at Beacon Theatre with Allison Russell. Norah Jones was also on hand for the occasion, making surprise appearances to join Staples on “You Are Not Alone” and Russell on a new song. Russell also came out during Staples set to join her on “Human Mind.”
