During Dacus’ show at Iveagh Gardens in Dublin, she sits for a moment with her band to cover Fontaines D.C.’s ‘Roy’s Tune’ – which is taken from the Irish band’s first record ‘Dogrel’. She is backed by a guitarist, keyboardist and violinist – and looks around the crowd as she sings the track.
Elsewhere in her Dublin show, the boygenius member also played songs including ‘Talk’ and ‘For Keeps’.

In June, Olivia Rodrigo covered Fontaines D.C.‘s ‘I Love You’ in Dublin. “Another reason why I love Dublin so much is you guys have really amazing music here – like there are so many incredible bands out of Dublin,” she said to the crowd. “Lately I’ve been obsessed with this band Fontaines D.C. and I’ve been playing this song alone in my room for fun, and I was wondering if it’d be cool if I played it for you guys.”
The cover sees Rodrigo beginning the performance solo, before she’s slowly joined by her backing band as they near the track’s climactic end.
Last night (July 5), Fontaines D.C. played at London’s Finsbury Park on a lineup with Kneecap, Amyl & The Sniffers, Blondshell, Been Stellar and Cardinals. As part of Kneecap’s set, Fontaines’ frontman Grian Chatten joined the trio for ‘Better Way To Live’.
For Grian Chatten and co., the Finsbury Park show follows the release of their acclaimed fourth studio record ‘Romance’ last year. It peaked at Number Two in the UK, and landed at Number Four in the top 10 best-selling vinyl albums of 2025 so far.
In the spring, Fontaines shared the Deluxe Edition on digital online platforms.
The collection contains three additional tracks, including a dreamy new track titled ‘Before You I Just Forget’, the standalone single ‘It’s Amazing To Be Young’, and a previously unreleased, stripped-back live version of ‘Starburster’ that incorporates David Lynch’s ‘In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song)’.
In other Lucy Dacus-related news, in April, she spoke out about being “uncomfortable” with people treating her and Julien Bakers‘ lives “like a Marvel Universe”.
In a new interview with The Forty Five, Dacus has admitted that she tries “not to look” at the Internet’s reaction to her and Baker’s relationship, adding: “But friends have been sending me funny things. It’s a happy thing – and Julien is very pro me letting people know.”
She went on to add that “the album was a gift to [Baker] first”, sharing that she sent the song ‘Calliope’ to express her feelings for Baker: “I wrote that song genuinely, when it was like, ‘OK, feelings are on the table, and we ought not touch them, because our relationship is too important, and I support what you want for your life. And how great that you’ve told me! Or like, ‘Wow, what a surprise that we’re saying this out loud. But let’s ultimately just say that we matter to each other and move on.’ That was real. That’s how I felt.”
