They’re promising unique collaborative performances and the lineup includes Damon Albarn, King Krule, James Blake, Jamie xx, Hot Chip, Bastille, Cat Burns, Adnan Joubran, Faraj Suleiman, Mabel, Obongjayar, Sampha, Paloma Faith, PinkpPantheress, Rachel Chinouriri, Greentea Peng, Celeste, Nadine Shah, Leigh-Anne, and more, plus appearances from Benedict Cumberbatch, Florence Pugh, Louis Theroux, Ramy Youssef, Riz Ahmed, and more. Paul Weller, Neneh Cherry, and others have been recently added to the lineup, and there’s also a newly taped Portishead reunion performance of “Roads” that will be shown. If you aren’t going to Wembley Arena, you can livestream the entire Together Palestine concert via YouTube starting at 2 PM Eastern (7 PM BST). Watch that, and check out the lineup poster, below.
You can also donate here, and buy some nicely designed Together Palestine merch that also goes to the cause.
Brian Eno wrote a piece in The Guardian today about his intentions and struggles to make Together Palestine happen. “I and others have been working for a year to bring the concert to life,” Eno writes. “Even finding a venue proved challenging: the mere mention of the word ‘Palestine’ was a near-certain precursor to refusal. (I wonder what the reaction would have been had it been called Together for Ukraine?) But at some point in the past few months, something changed. Wembley signed a contract, YouTube finally consented to streaming the event, and – most importantly – artists agreed to appear.”
