Charli XCX enlisted Chicken Shop Date‘s Amelia Dimoldenberg to do the viral ‘Apple’ choreography during her headline set at LIDO Festival. Check it out below.
Charli took over Victoria Park yesterday (June 14) for an all-day festival curated by the musician herself. The line-up featured Bladee, The Japanese House, The Dare, 070 Shake, Kelly Lee Owens, A. G. Cook and more.
The event, coined ‘Party Girl’, was part of LIDO, a new festival first announced in October. It is run by AEG Presents, who also organise All Points East, BST Hyde Park and Forwards.
Charli’s highly anticipated headline set included a couple of surprise guests, including Bladee, who joined for the first-ever live rendition of their ‘Rewind’ remix.
Earlier, during the now-famous ‘Apple’ segment of her performance, Dimoldenberg appeared on the big screen. The presenter offered a more laid-back take on the dance, which has made the track one of ‘Brat”s biggest hits. Check out the footage below.

She is far from the first famous face to get involved in the viral dance craze. Last summer, Charli took to social media following a compilation of renditions from the likes of Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos, and revealed to fans that the song nearly didn’t make the final cut for ‘Brat’.
In May, BLACKPINK‘s Rosé also took on the choreography at a concert in Brooklyn, and before then, others who joined in on the dance trend included Dave Grohl, Joe Jonas, Stephen Colbert, and Charli’s fiancé, The 1975‘s drummer George Daniel.
Most recently, Chappell Roan delivered the viral choreography during Charli’s headline set at Primavera Sound.

Later this month, Charli is set to play Glastonbury, where she’ll headline The Other Stage. In anticipation of the huge number of people who will be wanting to see her perform, organiser Emily Eavis said more space has been introduced around the stage.
“The Other Stage has quite a lot more space now for the audience. Obviously there is a lot of talk about Saturday night… [so] we’ve been managing that,” Eavis said in a recent interview. “We’re trying to make as much space as possible, but the thing I always want to say to people is that you can go elsewhere. There are so many things happening at any moment.”
Elsewhere, she Recently, she poked fun at herself while accepting her Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter Of The Year, saying: “I am hardly Bob Dylan, but I commit to the bit”, and made a surprise appearance during Air‘s set at We Love Green festival in Paris to perform ‘Cherry Blossom Girl’.
