Manchester United fans are growing impatient by the day, with regards to the club’s pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo, with INEOS seeing two bids get rejected so far by the Bees.

Their first bid of an initial £45 million was swiftly rejected, as they held out for more than £60 million. United ended up submitting a second offer in excess of that amount, but even that was rejected.

The London club are trying their best to try and earn more than what Wolverhampton Wanderers got for Matheus Cunha, while also hoping to incite a bidding war with Tottenham Hotspur for the Cameroonian.

But Bryan Mbeumo has made it extremely clear that he only wants a move to Old Trafford.

Bryan Mbeumo could stay at Brentford

Now, Brentford sporting director Phil Giles is once again trying to fan the flames of discontent among the United fans by claiming the Cameroon international is happy to stay at the Gtech Community Stadium should a deal not be agreed this window.

“There has been significant interest in Bryan. It’s been well documented and publicised about his current preference,” Giles confirmed to Sky Sports.

“I think, from what I understand, he’s also happy to stay at Brentford next year as well.

“If that deal is right, there is a deal to do. If not then he will stay.

United hope to wrap up deal this week

“We’ve spoken to Bryan and his representatives and it is not a given that he will depart this summer. There is interest, he had a great season last season, it’s inevitable there will be interest in him.”

INEOS remain confident of signing the 25-year-old and fans should not take the Brentford chief’s words too seriously.

They are trying to keep the race open, but all indications point towards a satisfying conclusion this week, with a medical also scheduled.

Once the deal is confirmed, the 20-time English league champions are likely to focus on outgoings as well as signing a striker.
