US President Donald slams UN, Europe, climate change in UNGA adress

In a wide-ranging and provocative address to the UN General Assembly, Donald Trump criticized the United Nations as ineffective, dismissed climate change as “the greatest con job ever,” and praised fossil fuels while attacking green energy. He warned European countries were “going to hell” due to immigration, demanded they stop buying Russian oil, and accused China and India of funding the Ukraine war. Trump condemned recent recognitions of a Palestinian state as a “reward for Hamas” and called for the release of hostages in Gaza. He also vowed to destroy drug smuggling operations, announced a planned meeting with Brazil’s President Lula. France24 International Affairs Kethevane Gorjestani provides more insights on this nearly one-hour speech.
