United winger hurtling toward exit door as Borussia Dortmund unlock necessary funds to complete transfer – report

Jadon Sancho appears to be heading closer to his departure from Manchester United as Borussia Dortmund register their interest in the winger.

Having spent the past few months on loan at Chelsea, Sancho was sent back to Man United after the London side decided to pay a £5 million penalty to let him go rather than abide by their £25 million obligation to keep him at the club.

While there appears to be no future for Sancho at Old Trafford, United manager Ruben Amorim seems to have an exit strategy, given that several other clubs have signalled their interest in the youngster.

Napoli were one such club, although they appear to be prioritising the signing of Dan Ndoye, as The Peoples Person relayed.

Still, there’s hope yet that Sancho can get a fresh start elsewhere, particularly after a familiar club came knocking.

“Sources with close ties to some of the leading agents in the industry have informed CaughtOffside that Sancho remains on the radar of his former club Borussia Dortmund,” CaughtOffside reported today.

“One source confirmed that Dortmund are now “in a stronger financial position following their Champions League qualification”, so could more easily afford a deal for Sancho.”

“The former Chelsea loanee is also on the radar of Napoli, and of fellow Serie A giants AC Milan, though only if Rafael Leao leaves,” the article continued.

“CaughtOffside have also been told that Premier League clubs Newcastle and West Ham are interested in Sancho. The 25-year-old is also on the agenda of Saudi sides Al Ahli, Al Nassr and Al Ittihad, though it’s not currently clear if the player is open to leaving Europe for Saudi Arabia at this stage in his career.”

If this report is to be believed, it appears as if Sancho could be well on his way to a new club where he will hope to revive his stalled career.

Dortmund’s interest in the winger is particularly encouraging, especially since they decided to bring in Sancho on loan last season.

Furthermore, while Sancho was a flop at United, his previous four-year tenure as a Dortmund player proved highly successful, hence why United developed an interest in him in the first place. There, he won the 2020-21 German Cup as well as the 2019/20 German Super Cup.

Hopefully, United will be able to fetch a decent price for Sancho as they look to complete a significant squad rebuild ahead of next season.
