Diambars FC star Etienne Mendy is reportedly on trial at Manchester United, ahead of a potential transfer to the club.
United step up pursuit of world’s best talents
Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe assumed operational control of United in February last year, the club’s transfer policy has radically shifted from signing already-established superstars to snapping up some of the best talents in football.
Amid the backdrop of inflated transfer markets, securing underrated prospects has become the true battleground, and United appear intent not to miss out.
Over the past few months, the Red Devils have brought in the likes of Sekou Kone, Leny Yoro, Patrick Dorgu, Ayden Heaven, Chido Obi, Enzo Kana-Biyik and Diego Leon.
The expectation is that, once these players blossom, they’ll lift United to greater heights.
According to 13football_com, another exciting wonderkid has popped up on United’s radar – Ettiene Mendy.

Much like Kone, Mendy is emerging as one of Senegal’s brightest rising stars. Mendy featured for Senegal at the U-17 AFCON and, despite their quarter-final exit, stood out as one of the tournament’s top performers.
Africafoot said about the 17-year-old, “Etienne Mendy is impressive. He’s an extraordinarily effective dribbler, a very good player in the last 30 meters, and has excellent technical skills.”
“He just needs to improve athletically to gain more size. He also needs to learn how to cross or pass first.”
Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim and his players are back in action on Sunday when they face Manchester City at the Etihad.
