Manchester United fans have put down an emphatic response regarding the future of one of their players.

Arrival full of fanfare

The Red Devils chased Jadon Sancho throughout the summer of 2020 but could not reach an agreement with Borussia Dortmund.

Finally, the club got their man the next summer when he was signed for £73 million.

Sadly, things have never worked out for the player or the club as he has only managed 83 appearances for United.

In this time he has only scored 12 goals and has been sent out on loan three times, with him currently playing his football for Aston Villa.

Off the field issues

To make matters worse, fan discontentment with Sancho is not only due to poor performances. He dramatically fell out with previous manager Erik ten Hag and has regularly been less than complimentary about the club on social media.

The England international’s current contract expires next summer but United do have the option to extend by a year.

Therefore, The Peoples Person have conducted a poll asking readers what should the club’s next action be.

Clear choice

59% of fans voted for the option that United should not extend the player’s contract and should get rid of him once and for all.

Sancho was part of the infamous “bomb squad” of players this summer but the club could not force him to leave permanently despite accepting a transfer offer from AS Roma.

Unfortunately, Sancho’s choice to go out on loan during his last year of his current deal means he will leave as a free agent next summer and the club will not receive any sort of financial compensation.

21% of fans believe that the club should extend his current deal by the year if he does well on loan at Villa this season.

The thought process behind this is likely to try and extract some sort of transfer fee for the player.

Nonetheless, Sancho has consistently shown such disdain for the club, it is very possible he would just accept another loan deal next year to run down his contract.

Finally, 20% of readers claim that the club should extend his deal regardless of performance just not to let another asset walk away for free next summer.
