Manchester United are always looking to add to their academy and snap up the best young talents available.
United’s search for young talent
During Ineos’ first year in charge, they signed up Chido Obi, Sekou Kone and Ayden Heaven.
Last summer they made a move for highly-rated Harley Emsden-James and Paraguayan star Diego Leon.
Earlier this season, they also captured Colombian teenager Cristian Orozco, who will join the club next summer.
Michael Noonan
Naturally, United are keeping a close eye on the Under-17 World Cup as many of the next generation’s top stars will be currently playing.
The Daily Mail report that, “Michael Noonan is a player Manchester United are keeping a close eye on, so too are Celtic.”
The 17 year old currently plays for Shamrock Rovers and in truth, is being followed by most Premier League sides.
In spite of his young age, he is a regular in the League of Ireland and is a crucial player for The Hoops.
The talented marksman is already in the record books as the youngest scorer in the Europa Conference League, finding the back of the net at 16 years and 197 days old against Norwegian side Molde.
That also makes him the second youngest scorer in all of UEFA’s competitions.
The youngster is described as a player who “can do a lot with very little and showed expertly how to use his tall frame throughout the tournament before going out against Switzerland.”
He scored twice against Canada as the Irish made it through their last-16 tie.
The Dubliner played 30 games in the Irish league last season, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in 36 matches.
Many feel that Noonan will shatter the League of Ireland sale record and “he looks destined for a Premier League move next summer, if not in January.”
