Ukrainians brave winter cold as Russia targets energy infrastructure
Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian homes are either entirely without heating, or with severely reduced heating. This, as temperatures rarely rise above minus 10. It’s the result of Russia’s campaign of drone and missile attacks on the country’s energy facilities, which Volodymyr Zelensky says Moscow has deliberately intensified to coincide with the cold weather.
