Trump slaps sanctions on Russia’s top oil firms, says talks with Putin ‘don’t go anywhere’

US President Donald Trump imposed sweeping sanctions Wednesday on Russian oil giants Rosneft and Lukoil, expressing frustration over stalled peace talks with Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine, as the EU unveiled its own new measures targeting Moscow’s energy revenues.
