Trump prolongs TikTok sale deadline 90 days in third extension

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday delayed for the third time his threat to ban TikTok, a critical asset during Trump’s reelection campaign, extending the deadline to sell the social media platform an additional 90 days. The Trump administration has repeatedly protracted the search for a US buyer for the Chinese-owned app, which US lawmakers say represents a security risk and is controlled by Beijing.
