They Might Be Giants release ‘Eyeball’ EP, announce 2026 spring tour

They Might Be Giants are back with a new EP, titled Eyeball, that is out now and features four new songs from John and John. “Our favorite way of making albums is to write and record too many songs and then arrange the ones that work together as an album,” says John Linell. “We always have a bunch of good tracks left over to make an EP. I’m sure there’s some exact equivalent process that goes on in the kitchen of a fancy restaurant, but I’m just guessing here. Anyway, these are the ‘amuse-bouche’ or perhaps ‘amuse-oreille’ tracks that we hope will be an enticing appetizer before the next album emerges from the oven.” You can listen to the Eyeball EP below.

Meanwhile, TMBG will be taking their eight-piece band on the road this spring for the “Bigger Show Tour,” featuring multi-night stops in Woodstock, Indianapolis, Detroit, Chicago, Philly, NYC, and Boston. All dates are below.

As for what to expect, TMGB write: “As has been our way in recent years, all of these shows are ‘An Evening with,’ which means no opener. Almost every night we are on stage playing at 8 PM. The opening set will spotlight a different album each night, and we will make a point of changing up the second sets from night to night just for the recidivists and ourselves. 2 sets. 3 horns. 8-piece band. Starts early. Gets loud.”

There are three NYC shows at Brooklyn Steel on May 28-30 and tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, January 23 at 10 AM local time.
