‘The White Lotus’ fans furious over Patrick Schwarzenegger Emmys snub: “I will not forgive them”

Fans of Patrick Schwarzenegger have expressed their outrage after the actor’s performance in The White Lotus wasn’t nominated for an Emmy.

The third season of the HBO drama was one of the biggest winners of Tuesday’s (July 15) nominees announcement, with 23 nominations including Best Supporting Actor for Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, and Sam Rockwell.

Despite the number of nods, the third most behind The Penguin (24) and Severance (27), Schwarzenegger’s portrayal of Saxon Ratliff was not honoured, something fans of the show felt was a mistake on their part.

“Patrick Schwarzenegger not being nominated is diabolical when he gave the best male performance of this season” said one user on X (formerly Twitter); with another adding: “Nominating The White Lotus for a bazillion awards but leaving out Patrick Schwarzenegger is… a choice. Big thumbs down!!”

“I will not forgive them” said one post, which also included a gif of the actor looking disappointed. Another concluded: “Patrick Schwarzenegger not getting in for White Lotus has to be the worst snub of the morning. Holy shit, that’s an awful shut out!”

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards take place on September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Despite being left out of the awards conversation, Patrick Schwarzenegger has seen his star ascend thanks to his performance in the show, and allowed him to step out of the shadow of his famous father, action legend Arnold.

Patrick has talked about the pressure of ‘Nepo Baby’ criticisms, telling The Sunday Times in February: “I know there are people who’ll say I only got this role because of who my dad is. They’re not seeing that I’ve had 10 years of acting classes, put on school plays every week, worked on my characters for hours on end or the hundreds of rejected auditions I’ve been on”.

In June, the actor recalled his reaction to learning that there was a gay porn parody of The White Lotus, and that an actor had been cast as him.
