The Lemonheads have announced details of Love Chant, their first new studio album of original material in nearly two decades. It’s out September 1 via Fire Records, was produced by Apollo Nove, and features contributions from J Mascis, Adam Green, former Lemonheads Juliana Hatfield and John Strohm, and The Bevis Frond‘s Nick Saloman.
The album includes their recent single “Deep End,” and they’ve just shared the the rocking “In the Margin,” which was co-written with Marciana Jones. “I wanted to have a riffy song, so I wrote riffs all over it,” Evan Dando says. “It’s like a full-on 8th-grade girl revenge song: ‘Stupidly I left the escape plans out so they could find my way.’” Watch the video below.
The Lemonheads have also announced a fall North American tour, which includes an NYC show at Racket on November 19, a Woodstock show at Bearsville Theater on November 21, and a Jersey City show at White Eagle Hall on November 22. Tickets for all shows go on sale Friday, June 27 at 10 AM local time. All dates are below.
In other news, Evan Dando will release a memoir, Rumors of My Demise, via Gallery Books, on October 7.
