Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham & Mick Fleetwood are teasing something (reunion?)

Just when you thought the book was closed on Fleetwood Mac, a new chapter appears. It looks like Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, and Mick Fleetwood may all be back on speaking terms again, or at least pretending to be civil.

If you forgot: Fleetwood Mac fired Lindsey Buckingham in 2018 after a MusiCares benefit show, replacing him with Mike Campbell and Neil Finn for their next tour. Lindsey then sued the rest of the band. He patched things up with Mick Fleetwood in 2021 but Stevie Nicks was still over it, releasing a statement that said in part, “Following an exceedingly difficult time with Lindsey at MusiCares in New York, in 2018, I decided for myself that I was no longer willing to work with him.”

Christine McVie died in 2022 and things went relatively quiet, though Nicks told MOJO last year that, “Without Christine [McVie], no can do. There is no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. Without her, it just couldn’t work.”

Then earlier this year it appeared that Lindsey and Mick were working together again. Today, comes a new, promising wrinkle for fans. Stevie Nicks posted on her Instagram an image of a handwritten lyric: “And if you go forward…” Not long after, Buckingham also posted an image on his Instagram of a handwritten lyric: “I’ll meet you there.”

Put those two lines together and you get a lyric from “Frozen Love” from the 1973 Buckingham Nicks album they made together before joining Fleetwood Mac. Adding to things was Mick who posted a video to his Instagram yesterday of himself listening listening to “Frozen Love” and writing, “Magic then, magic now.”

So what does it all mean? Is it just a publically coordinated olive branch? Or could the three of them be planning something else? We’ll have to wait and see.
