Irish post-punks SPRINTS have signed to Sub Pop and will sophomore album All That Is Over on September 26 via the label in North America and City Slang in the rest of the world.
The record was produced by Daniel Fox and born out of some chaos. “There was just so much happening and so much to process,” singer Karla Chubb says. “I was going through a big break up with my partner who I’d been with for eight years; Colm had left the band; we’d really progressed into being professional musicians, and I was at the start of a new relationship. But then you’d look outside and it’s like the world has never been uglier. I was writing every day because there was so much going on.”
The first single is the ripping “Descartes” which was inspired by a line in Rachel Cusk’s novel Outline: “Vanity is the curse of our culture.” Says Karla, “A lot of the negativity you see in the world is rooted in vanity and the ego that your beliefs or identity are more important than somebody else’s. ‘Descartes’ explores the idea that writing for me is not just a tool to make music but a tool to process the world.” Watch the video below.
SPRINTS will be on tour this summer and fall, including dates with Fontaines D.C., and have also announced early 2026 dates as well. Nothing in North America yet, stay tuned. All dates are below.
