Sprints have announced their new album ‘All That Is Over’ with their roaring single ‘Descartes’.
The Dublin punks will return with their new record on September 26 via City Slang and Sub Pop – pre-order/pre-save here.
The record will be their first release on Sub Pop, and will serve as the follow-up to their 2024 debut album ‘Letter To Self‘, whilch landed at Number 34 on NME‘s Best Albums of 2024.
They’ve now shared their fiery new single ‘Descartes’, with Karla Chubb saying that she wrote the song on a plane while reading Rachel Cusk’s Outline. “Sparked directly from the line ‘Vanity is the curse of our culture’, the rest of the song spilled out of me quite instantaneously,” she said in a press release.
“Descartes explores the idea of needing to write and create as a means of survival, not just a means of expression, and how important that is to me as a person to try to understand and process the world around me.” Take a listen to ‘Descartes’ below:
The band are soon to embark on a UK and Europe tour, which will kick off with an appearance at Glastonbury next weekend. They’ll then support Bloc Party at their show in Paris, along with supporting Fontaines D.C. on select European dates.
After finishing with a homecoming show at Dublic’s Vicar Street on November 20, the band will resume another headline European tour in 2026. Check out all dates below and get UK tickets here:

When Sprints dropped ‘Letter To Self’ last year, we hailed it with a five-star review: “This is a dynamic album that is reflective of the muddled world we find ourselves in – delivered with a fortifying sense of honesty from an essential emerging band.”
We also praised the record in our end of year list, writing: “This irresistibly moshable album begs for a bigger audience but it’s already a victory for the Dublin garage punks: the satisfaction of when an ‘Up And Comer’ comes out on top.”
