After doing the pre-show at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, Sabrina Carpenter got elevated to the main stage for the 2024 ceremony on Long Island. The pop artist sang three tracks from new album Short n’ Sweet, “Please Please Please,” “Taste,” and “Espresso.” Watch a clip from her performance below.
Carpenter began with “Please Please Please” and did, in fact, deliver one of the song’s memorable lines: “I beg you, don’t embarrass me, motherfucker.” After that, she did “Taste” and kissed an alien. Surrounded by astronauts, she finished up with “Espresso.”
Carpenter got her first-ever VMA nominations for this year, too. She was recognized in the following categories: Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Art Direction, and Song of the Summer.
