Manchester United are running out of time to make major changes to Ruben Amorim’s squad.
During United’s post-season tour, Amorim insisted he has a “clear idea” of what he wants his squad to look like before heading into pre-season.
The Red Devils are scheduled to face Leeds United in their first pre-season fixture over the weekend and so far United have made only one major signing, securing the signature of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
The situation concerning outgoings is even worse as the likes of Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony remain on United’s books. For the time being, the club have asked these players to train separately from first-team.
Manchester United want to get rid of Sancho quickly
A report in Italy suggests United are pushing to resolve Sancho’s future as soon as possible.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the sentiment around the Englishman’s transfer is “very positive” in Turin. However, Juventus are prioritising selling Nicolás González.
United, meanwhile, are understood to be pressing for the Sancho deal to be completed urgently.
The 25-year-old returned to Carrington after Chelsea decided against signing him permanently, and Amorim has no plans to hand him an opportunity to impress at Old Trafford. As such, the desire at the club is to “quickly reach an agreement that is satisfactory for everyone.”
Man United and Juventus are both making big effort for Sancho’s transfer
The Italian newspaper claim United were initially demanding over €20 million for the England international.
Juve are seemingly prepared to reach a compromise by offering €17m, a slight increase from their €15m valuation. It is thought the Serie A giants are also keen on acting swiftly to avoid competition from Turkey.
As far as his contract is concerned, the Old Lady are in talks with Sancho’s representatives over a salary of around €6m.
United, meanwhile, have made it clear that they are willing to pay a severance package to cut ties with their £73m signing.
