Public Enemy have surprise dropped new album ‘Black Sky Over The Projects: Apartment 2025’, giving fans a “pay-what-you-want” option for 72 hours – check all the details below.

Announced today (June 27), the new record from the veteran hip-hop group will be available exclusively on Bandcamp here, with listeners given the option to pay what they can over the next three days.

“This album is a give back to all of our fans with gratitude and appreciation,” said Chuck D of the LP, adding in a press release: “We see and appreciate you”.

Flavor Flav said the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees were planning on “bringing our beats to the world on this tour and with this album,” and that if fans couldn’t make it to their upcoming live dates, “these new tracks are for you to get down to at home. Pay whatcha want for the next 72 hours.”

Previewed with ‘March Madness’, a new protest song against gun violence and “crooked politicians”, you can check out the full tracklist below.

From London, the group is set to travel to Denmark on Sunday (June 29) to join Guns N’ Roses on their stadium tour across Europe through July.

The news of the surprise album drop comes after the band used their set at RiverBeat Music Festival in Memphis last month to call for a “free Palestine”, and after they shared that all proceeds from ‘March Madness’ were being donated to The Black Music Action Coalition human rights fund and Everytown, a non-profit organisation against gun violence.
