Patrick Dorgu gives spot-on answer to Carrick on his best position after stunning display vs. Man City

Manchester United star Patrick Dorgu has issued an answer to what his best position on the pitch, following his outstanding performance against Manchester City.

Dorgu stuns vs. City

Dorgu scored United’s second goal of the match as the Red Devils cruised to a dominant 2-0 victory over Pep Guardiola’s men.

Following several squandered opportunities, Bryan Mbeumo broke the deadlock for United in the 65th minute.

Dorgu then made it 2-0 just 11 minutes later when he brilliantly shook off Rico Lewis to meet a sublime delivery from substitute Matheus Cunha.

Deployed in an advanced role on the left flank, Dorgu performed admirably. He was a lively presence throughout the match and equally impressive in his defensive contributions.

He spoke to MUTV after the final whistle and made his preference clear after being asked what his best position is.

Dorgu remarks

Dorgu said, “Yeah, everyone gave 100%. It’s never easy to play against Manchester City. They keep the ball so well, so we needed to stay together in the key moments and we did that really well.”

Asked how he felt playing as part of a united team, Dorgu answered, “It was good.”

“We get the space behind and it’s never easy to play in these games, but with these players it’s easy to find space because they want the ball and we could see today that everyone was giving 100% on the pitch.”

On his goal, Dorgu said, “I think Cunha did all the hard work to be honest. He did really well. It was a good cross and I just spotted the ball, ran through it and luckily won it.”

The Dane continued, “I just believed in my teammate that he would put a good ball in there, and I just closed my eyes and hoped to win.”

“We had three or four disallowed goals. We were pretty dangerous. I didn’t think they had a shot on target, so we played a top game today.”

Dorgu acknowledged that while he enjoys playing higher up the pitch, where he can get involved in the attacks, he is happy to play anywhere as long as he is on the pitch.

He told MUTV, “Yeah, I enjoy playing on the pitch. I don’t care if it’s in the defence or attack.”

“I just want to play and I’m really happy right now.”

Looking ahead to next Sunday’s meeting with table leaders Arsenal, Dorgu emphasised that nothing less than three points will be enough for he and his teammates.
