OnePay CashRewards Card review: A solid option for in-person and online Walmart shoppers

OnePay CashRewards Card overview

The OnePay CashRewards Card is a simple no-annual-fee option for frequent Walmart shoppers, offering generous unlimited earnings on Walmart purchases and a flat 1.5% cash-back rate on all other purchases. Even if you don’t shop at Walmart often, there’s still a strong case for this card being added to your wallet. Card rating*: ⭐⭐⭐

The OnePay CashRewards has no annual fee, but to get the highest earning rates on Walmart purchases (5% back), you’ll need a Walmart+ membership, which costs $12.95 per month or $98 annually, plus applicable taxes.

You also earn 1.5% back on all other purchases outside of Walmart, making it a solid everyday card.

We recommend a fair credit score or higher to be approved for this card.

This welcome offer is underwhelming and not very competitive compared to other cash-back cards, but it’s still better than nothing considering the low spending requirement.

OnePay CashRewards Card benefits

The OnePay CashRewards Card is a no-annual-fee card, so it isn’t loaded with benefits.

Once approved, eligible cardholders can receive instant card access via the OnePay and Walmart apps, so they can start using their card immediately to make purchases.

Additionally, the card has no foreign transaction fees for purchases made in currencies other than U.S. dollars. This is a nifty perk, considering most cards with no annual fee don’t offer it.

The biggest benefit of this card is its earnings rates — though for the highest rates, you’ll need a Walmart+ membership.

The card functions similarly to the Prime Visa (see rates and fees), offering elevated earnings at Amazon for Prime members and reduced earnings for non-Prime members.

Walmart+ membership comes with perks like:

  • Free grocery delivery
  • Free delivery with no order minimum
  • Free returns from home
  • Discounted Burger King orders and a free Whopper every three months with a purchase
  • Up to 10 cents off per gallon of gas at participating Exxon, Mobil, Murphy USA, Sam’s Club and Walmart gas stations
  • Complimentary Paramount+ subscription

Pro tip: If you hold The Platinum Card® from American Express, you can receive a monthly statement credit of up to $12.95 plus taxes and fees to cover the monthly cost of one Walmart+ membership (subject to auto-renewal; enrollment required). Plus Ups excluded.

Cash back is earned in the form of OnePay points. These points can be redeemed as cash back into a OnePay Cash account or as a statement credit.

Should I get the OnePay CashRewards Card?

If you’re looking for a simple cash-back option, shop at Walmart frequently and have a Walmart+ membership, this card is a no-brainer.

However, if you don’t have a Walmart+ membership or prefer more flexibility with your rewards, you may be better off opting for another cash-back card.

Bottom line

The OnePay CashRewards is shaping up to be an excellent no-annual-fee cash-back card. Even if you don’t shop at Walmart frequently, it’s worth a second look given its unlimited 1.5% cash back on all purchases.

If I shopped at Walmart more frequently, I’d consider adding this to my wallet.
