No Joy announce North American tour, share “Bits” from new album

Montreal shoegaze vets No Joy have announced a North American tour in support of their upcoming album Bugland. The tour starts in Washington, DC on September 3 and wraps in Toronto on October 2. From there, No Joy head to the UK and Europe. The NYC show is at Trans Pecos on September 4. All dates are listed below.

Bugland was co-produced by No Joy’s Jasamine White-Gluz and Fire-Toolz, and is out August 8. They have just shared the second single, “Bits,” which has some great Cocteau-esque harmonies and atmosphere amid raging, sludgy guitars.

“The original demo was built around me blowing out my guitar distortion using the EarthQuaker Devices Bit Commander guitar pedal,” says Jasamine. “Thematically, I wanted to capture the feeling of running through tall grass, playing hide and seek behind big trees.” Listen below.
