Mitski began The Shed residency (night 1 pics, video & setlist w/ Sex Week)

After playing an invite-only show at the venue last week, Mitski officially began her six-show residency at The Shed on Monday night (3/2). She played a lot of her fantastic new album Nothing’s About to Happen to Me and a bunch of older songs, including one from her 2012 debut Lush, “Pearl Diver.” Unlike her recent tours that have tended towards performance art, Mitski didn’t incorporate choreographed movement into her performance on Monday night, singing while standing at her mic stand in the center or wandering to either side of the stage instead.

Sex Week opened Monday night’s show, and they also open the next two nights, then Gustaf open the next three. See pictures from Monday night by Ellen Qbertplaya below, along with the setlist and attendee-taken video.

Also on display at The Shed to go with the residency is The Tansy House Exhibit, which depicts the world of Mitski’s new album.
