Melissa Lim, the woman who inspired Oasis‘ 1995 track ‘Talk Tonight’, was in attendance at the band’s reunion tour stop in Los Angeles.

The North American leg of the Oasis Live ‘25 tour rolled into the Rose Bowl Stadium over the weekend (September 6), with a host of famous faces, including Vince Vaughn, Leonardo DiCaprioSalma HayekKristen StewartMetallica‘s James Hetfield, Finneas, Billie Eilish and Paul McCartney in attendance.

Aside from the A-list names, fans on social media were also quick to note that Lim was at the show after she shared clips of the gig on Instagram, writing: “30 years and worth the wait! Thank you @oasis.”

As those who have seen the Supersonic documentary will remember, Noel famously went missing after the band’s disastrous gig at Whisky A Go Go in 1994. He threatened to quit the band for good and sought refuge with Lim.

“I went to San Francisco, ’cos I’d left the band at that point, and I was, well, I don’t know what I was doing,” he told NME in 1998 of the legendary AWOL period that inspired ‘Talk Tonight’.

“I was just off me fucking head. And I met this chick, and she sorted me head out, really. Actually, she ended up grassing me up to the record company ’cos they were all looking for me, so she told them where I was, and they came to get me!”

In Supersonic, he said that he couldn’t remember her name or face, but in 2016, Lim spoke to the San Francisco Chronicle about the time she spent with Noel during that period, and said he was “very upset, at the time.

“I took him in, fed him and tried to calm him down. He wanted to break up the band… I told him, ‘You can’t leave the band — you’re on the verge of something big.’”

A previous stop on the North American leg took them to New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, where they dedicated ‘Live Forever’ to the victims of the Minneapolis church shooting on the first night earlier this week.

Last Wednesday (August 27), a shooter targeted a group of people outside the Church of the Annunciation in Minneapolis before morning mass, killing two children and injuring eighteen others. The perpetrator then killed himself.

Oasis will next play dates in Pasadena and Mexico City before heading back for two extra shows at Wembley Stadium at the end of the month. They go on to play South Korea, JapanAustralia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil before the end of the year.

NME gave Oasis’ historic first comeback concert at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium a glowing five-star review, writing: “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century.”

“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits.”

Noel also spoke recently about the “great” experience of being back on tour with his brother Liam, saying he had forgotten “how funny” he is, adding that he is “smashing it” and he is “proud of him”.
