Maya Hawke announces new album & tour dates, shares “Devil You Know”

Maya Hawke has announced a new album, Maitreya Corso, which will be out May 1 via Mom + Pop. She made it with a few longtime collaborators, including her new husband Christian Lee Hutson, Benjamin Lazar Davis and producer Jonathan Low.

The first single from the album is “Devil You Know,” a loping slow jam heavy on the vocoder. “‘Devil You Know’ is about trying to keep ambition and greed out of the creative process,” Maya says. “This album generally is about learning to protect the precious from the poisonous. Protect creation from pride. Protect love from control. Protect collaboration from jealousy.” Listen to that below.

Maya and Christian Lee Hutson will perform together at Tuesday’s Tibet House benefit at Carnegie Hall, and she’s got a few spring tour dates lined up, including Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on April 11 and an album release show at Manhattan’s Bowery Ballroom on May 2. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday, March 6 at 10 AM.
