Malian army positions targeted in coordinated attacks, military says

Seven Malian army positions in western Mali, some near the Senegalese border, were targeted in coordinated attacks early Tuesday, according to a military statement. No death toll was provided and the attacks, the latest in a new series, have so far not been claimed by any jihadist group operating in the vast, impoverished Sahel region.
