Mac DeMarco adds Carnegie Hall & Hollywood Bowl shows to tour

Mac DeMarco is on tour in Japan now, and he has lots more shows lined up throughout the year: he’ll be in Asia through the beginning of March and heads to South America in April, returns to the US in May, then onto Europe from June through September. Once that run is done, he’ll be back stateside in October, and he’s just announced a pair of new NYC shows. They happen at Carnegie Hall on October 25 and October 26, and tickets go on sale Friday, February 20 at 11 AM, with a presale starting Wednesday, February 18 at 11 AM.

Mac also recently added a new Los Angeles show at Hollywood Bowl on October 9. Tickets are on sale now.

Mac recently discussed the hype around Cameron Winter (who played Carnegie Hall in December) and Mk.gee with NME. Asked “Does the buzz around an unlikely band like Geese feel authentic to you?,” Mac said, “It seems cool! I have a thing when I see someone like Cameron [Winter, frontman] or Mk.gee and it’s like, ‘I was there once. The hype was coming for me… Have fun, but it gets weirder!’ I think also, when there’s something that’s that popping, the hype makes it so I don’t know how to consume it right now. But Mk.gee lives down the street from me, he’s a sweet guy. I gave away a lot of stuff from my studio a couple of years ago and he took some cables and showed me his Honda bike.
