Lyon relegated to second-tier Ligue 2 by French football’s financial watchdog

French football heavyweights Lyon will play in the second division next season after the sport’s financial watchdog on Tuesday confirmed a provisional demotion for financial mismanagement. The club, owned by US businessman John Textor, is expected to appeal the decision.
