‘Life Is Strange’ fans want ‘Wednesday’s Emma Myers to star in TV adaptation

A TV adaptation of Life Is Strange has been confirmed and fans want Wednesday’s Emma Myers to star.

The original Life Is Strange game was released in 2015 and follows Max Caulfield, a photography student who discovers she can rewind time while saving the life of her childhood best friend, Chloe. “As she struggles to understand this new skill, the pair investigate the mysterious disappearance of a fellow student, uncovering a dark side to their town that will ultimately force them to make an impossible life or death choice that will impact them forever.”

Life Is Strange became a cult hit and spawned a number of sequels and spin-offs. Last year Double Exposure, a direct sequel to the original Life Is Strange, was released.

Now, a new report from Variety has confirmed that a live-action adaptation of Life Is Strange is heading to Amazon Prime Video. The show will be written by Charlie Covell (Kaos, The End Of The F******g World), who will also serve as executive producer and showrunner. 

“We have always believed that Life Is Strange deserved to be more than just a game—it’s a cultural touchstone,” said producer Story Kitchen in a statement. “After a decade-long journey, we’re honoured to be bringing this beloved story to Amazon MGM alongside our incredible partners at Square Enix, our brilliant showrunner/writer Charlie Covell, and the amazing team at LuckyChap. Together, this thoughtfully assembled dream team is ready to share Life Is Strange with the world in an entirely new way!”

“It’s a huge honour to be adapting Life Is Strange. “I am a massive fan of the game, and I can’t wait to share Max and Chloe’s story with fellow players and new audiences alike,” added Covell.

No news has been shared about release date or cast but fans have taken to the Internet to demand Wednesday’s Emma Myers play Max.

“Emma Myers as Max is too perfect to pass up. We know y’all got money Amazon, just go ahead and give her a blank check,” one fan wrote on X. Am I delusional for actually believing there’s a big possibility Emma Myers is playing Max,” said another. 

Myers recently said it would be “really fun” to be involved in a Life Is Strange adaptation. It wouldn’t be the first video game adaptation Myers has been involved in either, after she starred in the record breaking A Minecraft Movie.

In other news, Hollow Knight: Silksong fans are complaining the long-awaited sequel is too difficult, while others are defending the “punishing” game.
