Lamp of Murmuur announce new album ‘The Dreaming Prince In Ecstasy,’ share 9-minute song

Tomorrow (9/18), rising US black metal greats Blackbraid will begin their tour in support of their excellent new album Blackbraid III and they’ll be joined on that trek by another one of the best current US black metal bands, Lamp of Murmuur, with whom Blackbraid shares a live backing band. Ahead of the tour, Lamp of Murmuur have also announced a new album, The Dreaming Prince In Ecstasy, which arrives on November 14 via Wolves of Hades.

The album has nine songs, including a three-part title track suite, and the lead single is the nine-minute “Forest Of Hallucinations.” It’s the first Lamp of Murmuur song since 2023’s great Saturnian Bloodstorm (though it also follows new music from Lamp of Murmuur leader M.’s projects Magus Lord and Silent Thunder), and it’s a great example of M.’s ability to fuse haunting instrumental melodies with harsh, depressive shrieks. The tour with Blackbraid also includes Swedish melodic black metal greats Dödsrit, and it hits Brooklyn on September 27 at The Meadows. All dates are listed below.
