Laibach go pop, sort of, on new album ‘MUSICK’: watch “Allgorhythm” video

Slovenian industrial icons Laibach have announced new album MUSICK which will be out May 1 via Mute. They say the title is in reference to the sheer amount of music that gets uploaded to streaming services every day (somewhere around 100,000 tracks), and the increasing amount of it that is AI slop. It’s a duality: both “sick of music” and reflecting their “pathological devotion” to the band.

With that Laibach have made their most pop album of their 40-years career, enlisting hitmaker Richard X (Annie, Kelis, Goldfrapp) as producer. Mind you, it’s still Laibach so this is their version of pop that retains those signature martial melodies and Milan Fras’ guttural baritone. You can get a taste of this shiny new Laibach on “Allgorhythm” which features Ghanaian singer Wiyaala. Watch the video below.
