Kim signals openness to US ties while calling South Korea ‘most hostile’

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said on Thursday that Pyongyang could improve relations with Washington if its nuclear status is respected, while hardening his stance on Seoul by labelling it the country’s “most hostile” enemy. His remarks come amid speculation over a possible meeting with US President Donald Trump.
