The member of Kendrick Lamar‘s dance crew who was chased and escorted off the field during the rapper’s 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show has been arrested.

During Kendrick Lamar’s history-making performance, the rapper was joined by a 400-strong cast of dancers and models. Towards the end of the show, the majority of the cast were seen spread across the field in the New Orleans Superdome as Kendrick rapped along to ‘TV Off’ with DJ-producer Mustard.

The vast majority of the cast donned all-black attire, and, at the end of the performance, one of the dancers unfurled the Palestinian flag with the words “Sudan” and “Gaza” written on it. He then jumped off the stage and ran across the field, waving the flag around.

The at-the-time unidentified man was chased down by security before finally being tackled to the ground and escorted off the field. Per Variety, the Louisiana State Police have now identified the individual as Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, who turned himself in after a warrant was issued after a four-month probe into the incident.

The 41-year-old was arrested on Thursday (June 26) with a warrant that was obtained through the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court. He was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace by interrupting a lawful assembly.

According to officials, Nantambu had “surrendered himself through coordination with his attorney.” They added: “Security and law enforcement personnel on site quickly recognized the unauthorized action and apprehended the performer after he refused to comply with their commands to stop.”

In a statement given to NBC at the time, a spokesperson for the NFL said: “We commend security for quickly detaining the individual who displayed the flag. He was a part of the 400-member field cast. The individual hid the item on his possession and unveiled it late in the show. No one involved with the production was aware of the individual’s intent.”

The producers of the Halftime Show, Roc Nation, also issued a statement of their own, saying the protest “was neither planned nor part of the production and was never in any rehearsal.”
