Kelly Moran announces new album & US tour, shares “Echo in the Field”

Composer and producer Kelly Moran has announced a new album, Don’t Trust Mirrors, which will be out digitally October 1 via Warp. The album was six years in the making and features her labelmate Bibio.

The first single from the album is “Echo in the Field” which features Moran’s signature synth arpeggiations and treated piano. The video, directed by Katharine Antoun, features some surprises. “Few things in this world terrify me more than the idea of me dancing in a music video,” says Kelly. “I wanted to address that fear head on because this is the first track I’ve written that makes me want to get up to dance, headbang, and generally lose my shit. I collaborated with choreographer Juri Onuki (Caroline Polachek, Blood Orange) to learn choreography that would allow me to embody my music in a completely new way. I’m always sitting down when I perform my music, so I wanted to show a different side of my physicality that captures how this music makes me feel when I’m not bound to a piano bench.”

Watch the video below.

Kelly will be on tour this fall, including her most extensive US run yet with dates in Philly, Atlanta, Tampa, Portland, LA, San Francisco and Cincinnati this month. She’ll be in New York to play Roulette on November 6. All dates are listed below.
