It’s back: Sapphire Reserve cardholders can enroll for Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status

The [applyLink pid=”221211836″ overridetext=”Chase Sapphire Reserve®”] (see [termsConditions pid=”221211836″ overridetext=”rates and fees”]) just underwent significant changes, but Chase also brought back a popular promotion for cardholders. This promotion gives eligible cardholders Gold Elite status in the Marriott Bonvoy program for three months, with the opportunity to secure this status through February 2027.

Here’s what you should know about this promotion, which View from the Wing first flagged based on a Reddit post.

Gold Elite status offer

Sapphire Reserve members can visit the benefits dashboard on the Chase website to enroll in this Gold Elite status offer. Enrollment is open from July 1 to Sept. 30, and you’ll keep Gold Elite status for three months from enrolling in the promotion. You should usually see the status in your Marriott account within three business days of enrolling in this promotion.

However, if you complete at least three paid nights on qualifying rates during your three-month status trial period, you’ll keep Gold Elite status through February 2027. (For clarification, nights for which you’ve redeemed a free night award or Marriott points won’t qualify for this promotion.)

Time your registration for this offer based on when you can stay at Marriott properties; the period during which you can stay three nights to qualify for Gold Elite status through February 2027 is based on when you enroll in the promotion.

Finally, this offer won’t help if you already have Gold Elite or higher status. So, you’ll only want to enroll in this offer if you have no status or Silver Elite status.

Other easy ways to earn Marriott elite status

This offer is worth considering if you have the [applyLink pid=”221211836″ overridetext=”Chase Sapphire Reserve”] and don’t stay with Marriott properties frequently. However, earning and maintaining Marriott elite status via other credit cards is also easy.

For example, you can get Gold Elite status with Marriott as an ongoing perk of the [applyLink pid=”8467″ overridetext=”Marriott Bonvoy Bevy® American Express® Card”], the [applyLink pid=”6771″ overridetext=”Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card”], [applyLink pid=”22504813″ overridetext=”The Platinum Card® from American Express”] and [applyLink pid=”7758″ overridetext=”The Business Platinum Card® from American Express”].

Plus, you can even get Platinum Elite status just for being a cardmember of the [applyLink pid=”6396″ overridetext=”Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card”].

Finally, remember that you can earn up to 40 elite night credits per year from up to one personal and one business Marriott Bonvoy card. For example, as a benefit of my [applyLink pid=”6389″ overridetext=”Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card”] (see [termsConditions pid=”6389″ overridetext=”rates and fees”]) and [applyLink pid=”6771″ overridetext=”Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card”], I get 30 elite night credits from these cards each year. This means I only need to accrue 20 more elite night credits each calendar year for Platinum Elite status or 45 more elite night credits each calendar year for Titanium Elite status.

Bottom line

The [applyLink pid=”221211836″ overridetext=”Chase Sapphire Reserve”] offers several types of elite status you can obtain by meeting specific spending thresholds on your card. But this Marriott status offer for Sapphire Reserve members is different because it’s a limited-time offer you must enroll in.

If you aren’t already a cardholder, the Chase Sapphire Reserve currently has a best-ever welcome offer of 100,000 bonus points and a $500 Chase Travel promo credit after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.
