How long is ‘Death Stranding 2: On The Beach’?

Death Stranding 2 On The Beach Length: Sam can be seen

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach has been through some shake-ups during its development. From COVID-19 throwing off the production, to Kojima changing up the story halfway through development because playtesters were having too much fun, it has been a rocky road to release.

But has this resulted in a shorter game or an adventure that is on par with or longer than the original? Here is a full breakdown of the length after more than 40 hours with the game.

Death Stranding 2‘s main story is around 30-35 hours long if you focus solely on it, ignoring side activities, Standard Orders, and other exploration beyond the core missions.

However, with several hundred orders in the game, you can easily spend up to 100 hours finishing everything there is to do in Mexico and Australia. This includes leveling all facilities and shelters to their maximum connection level and unlocking all fabrication blueprints and items from each of the preppers, facility managers, and people scattered throughout the world.

There are also a lot of other smaller secrets to find throughout the world that aren’t marked on the map or are teased through Social Strand Service posts. This length is significantly shorter than the original Death Stranding, which had around double the number of orders in Death Stranding 2. But the tasks in the sequel feel less like filler deliveries and are, instead, more meaningful for each prepper and facility manager.

You can also find out about whether or not the game is likely to get a PC release like the original did after its initial launch.
