Gruff Rhys talks Super Furry Animals reunion, new solo album, touring with Oasis & more

“We’re an active WhatsApp group if not a performing group,” is how Gruff Rhys described the status of Super Furry Animals when I talked to him back in September. This was just a few days before the band announced they were reuniting in 2026 for their first tour in a decade. Gruff has a good poker face.
