Google Maps isn’t loading in some regions due to an apparent outage

Google Maps appears to be going through an outage. At least in some regions, the mobile version of Google Maps is unable to fully load its map or provide directions. Over 4,000 reports have been filed for the service on DownDetector, and as of 2:12PM ET, Google’s Status Dashboard noted that the company was investigating an issue with the Maps SDK.

On both the Android and iOS versions of Google Maps, the service was unable to fully load its map, display listings or provide directions. In at least one case, the app showed an error message saying that Google Maps “Cannot reach server.”
