Glen Hansard announces new live album & tour, shares “Didn’t He Ramble” video

Glen Hansard has announced Don+t Settle – Transmissions East & West, a two volume retrospective featuring live versions of songs from throughout his career, recorded live over two nights Funkhaus in Berlin in April of 2025. Transmissions East is due out April 24 via Plateau/Secretly, with Transmissions West to follow later this year. See the cover art and tracklist for East below.

The first single is a new live version of “Didn’t He Ramble.” “Our local bar was The Ramble Inn,” Glen says. “My father spent most of his waking and sometimes sleeping hours in there…he’d ramble in and stumble out. I wrote this song after he passed at the fair young age of 62. The kind of tribute song he would have approved of. My father was a proud man. Loved his family and his drink in equal measure. My father showed his love shoulder to shoulder, not face to face. He drove The Frames amps and instruments around for years. Rarely staying for the show. But always there to load out the gear with the band afterward. I loved him very much and wanted to write him a tribute song he’d enjoy. I raise my voice, and a glass to Jemo Hansard.”

Glen also announced a North American tour, beginning on March 29 in Los Angeles and wrapping up with a pair of NYC shows, at City Winery on April 8 and Bowery Ballroom on April 9. Tickets to those and all dates go on sale Friday, February 27 at 10 AM local, with a mailing list presale starting Tuesday, February 24 at 10 AM local (to receive the password, fans must join the mailing list by 9 AM local time that day). See all dates below.
