“From the start, he was really…”: Sesko reveals true colours of United teammate in candid sitdown

Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko has made a revelation about Diogo Dalot, shedding light on the defender’s genuine nature.

Sesko in fine form

Sesko appears to finally be hitting his stride in a United shirt, having made the move to the club during the summer transfer window from RB Leipzig.

He arrived at Old Trafford to much fanfare and expectation and showed very promising signs early on of his sky-high potential, particularly in the air and in terms of holding up the ball.

However, goals proved slightly elusive for him, even though he was not aided by an injury he suffered against Tottenham Hotspur in November.

The Slovenian was sidelined for a few games but he has certainly looked the part since returning to action. Like many of his teammates, he appears to have kicked up an extra level since Ruben Amorim’s dismissal. Under both Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick, Sesko has notched five goals.

Over his last six appearances, he has hit a staggering goal every 48.2 minutes.

Some of his goals have been vital for United. Sesko netted a dramatic late winner in the 3-2 victory over Fulham and also rescued a point for the Red Devils at West Ham. He came off the bench in both instances.

Sesko spoke to the Inside Carrington podcast and named Dalot as the teammate who has helped him the most with the transition to Manchester United.

Sesko’s Dalot revelation

The 22-year-old said, “With Diogo Dalot like from the start he was really helping me, he was really trying to help me in all the ways, because obviously it’s a different world here.”

“I’m really grateful that he stood up and he saw his younger self in me, you know?”

“We are still pushing every day and doing all the work that’s possible.”

Sesko noted that he has also been aided by other members of the squad.

“There is a couple of couple of guys, definitely. I think it’s just it’s more or less everyone. Obviously they do it in different ways, but we always try to find a way to do it as a group, together.”

“I think that’s why you can also see it on the pitch.”

Sesko and United return to action on Monday, February 23, when they go away to Everton.
