French MPs ‘relieved’ and ‘worried’ after confidence vote topples PM Bayrou

French MPs are both “relieved” and “worried” to see Prime Minister François Bayrou go after a confidence vote toppled the government on Monday, FRANCE 24 French politics editor Marc Perelman said. While French lawmakers overwhelmingly voted to oust Bayrou and his cabinet, many are concerned that France is becoming increasingly unstable politically, Perelman said.
