Four Tet got his start in indie rock before becoming a very successful electronic artist, and he has a real affinity for taking classic bands and putting them on the dancefloor. His remix of The Cure‘s “Alone” is one of the standouts on the just-released Mixes of a Lost World, and now he’s worked his magic with his new single “Into Dust (Still Falling),” which samples Mazzy Star‘s “Into Dust” from 1993’s So Tonight That I Might See (the same album as “Fade Into You”).
Keiran makes great use of the spectral original as he works it into his atmospheric style, here powered by a skipping beat. You could almost call it “Into Dust” (Four Tet Remix) but the lawyers have already worked all that out and we can just put it on and enjoy. Listen below.
“Into Dust (Still Falling)” is also available as a limited edition 12″ with a different version of the track on the flip.
You can catch Four Tet at festivals this summer including Glastonbury, Fuji Rock, and US appearances at LA’s Hard Summer and Philly’s Making Time. All dates, including a few headline shows too, are listed below.
In addition to The Cure’s just-released Mixes of a Lost World (pick it up on vinyl), Four Tet also has a collab album with William Tyler on the way.
