For Those I Love announces new album ‘Carving The Stone’ with euphoric single ‘No Scheme’ and UK and Ireland tour

For Those I Love has announced his upcoming second album ‘Carving The Stone’, alongside the euphoric single ‘No Scheme’, and a UK and Ireland tour. Find all the information below.

The album is set to follow the artist’s –  real name David Balfe’s – first material since the release of his 2021 self-titled debut album, and will be released on August 8 via September Recordings. You can pre-order here.

‘No Scheme’, released today (June 30), comes after first single ‘Of The Sorrows’, which was shared in May and is now revealed to be on the album.

The track is described as a “spiritual successor” to ‘Top Scheme’, which appeared on Balfe’s debut, and is “the only track on the new album with a direct link to the old,” he says.

“Anchored by the same chaos as Top Scheme, No Scheme trades some of its anger for despondency, its rage for reflection, while never fully leaving that original fire behind. Like much of the album it comes from, whenever it points the finger outwardly, it points it back inwardly too,” Balfe continues.

“Hypocrisy, complacency, and culpability are all present, but so too is a search for justice or meaning in an increasingly confusing time. A great deal has changed since I wrote it, but I feel as committed as ever to sharing it with you all.” Check out the song below.

Following the release of the album, For Those I Love will be heading on a UK and Ireland tour, kicking off on September 23 in Bristol, before making stops in London, Manchester and Glasgow.

Then, in October, he’ll head to Belfast, before playing shows in Cork, Listowel, Galway and Dublin. Tickets go on sale this Friday (July 4) at 10am, and will be available here. Pre-sale access will be available from Tuesday (July 2) at 10am, and you can sign up here.

His debut was awarded four stars by NME and was described as an “immaculate debut” that “turns loss into hope”.

It added: “The Dublin artist and producer takes the loss of his best friend, teenage memories and ravey sounds to celebrate love, light and togetherness.” The record also came in at Number 11 in NME’s 50 best albums of 2021.
