Fabrizio Romano spills the beans on United wonderkid’s next destination after former manager expresses reunion interest

Alejandro Garnacho has no future at Manchester United after his most recent fallout with Ruben Amorim, and despite interest from clubs all across Europe, the Argentine is eager to stay in the Premier League.

There has been reported interest from Bayer Leverkusen, who recently appointed former United boss Erik ten Hag as manager, with the club keen to reunite the pair.

But Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that the Argentine has no intention of leaving the English top-flight, while INEOS’ asking price and the player’s wage demands are also likely to be beyond the Bundesliga side’s reach.

Garnacho likely to stay in the PL

“Alejandro Garnacho’s priority is to stay in Premier League while he’s set to leave Man United this summer.

“Despite Bayer Leverkusen interest and Ten Hag’s appreciation, the deal looks complicated and Premier League is the player’s first choice,” Romano wrote on X.

There is reported interest from the likes of fierce rivals Chelsea, Arsenal and Aston Villa, with INEOS setting a high asking price of £70 million for direct domestic rivals.

There is also interest from Napoli, who were close to a deal in January, as well as quite a few Saudi Pro League sides like Al-Nassr, where Alejandro Garnacho can be reunited with his idol and United legend, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Alejandro Garnacho to leave United

The forward’s former side Atletico Madrid are also in the race.

The Argentina international’s sale will count as pure profit, which explains why INEOS are eager to sell.

Amorim has had his run-ins with the Carrington graduate, initially before the Manchester derby and after the Ipswich Town game.

But things never escalated beyond repair, with the ex-Sporting CP boss even fighting with INEOS to keep the United No.17 during the January window.

The 20-year-old had started the majority of the games under the new head coach, but his explosive comments after being forced to come on as a substitute in the Europa League final proved to be the final straw.

Amorim signalled in front of the rest of the squad that the Argentine no longer had a place in the squad and asked him to find a new club.
